Closure is a browser extension that organizes your tabs — grouping them by domain, detecting broken pages, and archiving idle tabs with optional AI-generated summaries. That's it.
Closure collects nothing. Specifically:
Closure stores data locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This data never leaves your machine. It includes:
You can view and delete all stored data from the Settings page at any time.
Closure makes zero network requests. No data is sent to any server, API, or third party. The extension does not contain any code that communicates over the network. This is verified by automated tests that monitor all network activity from every extension page.
When enabled, AI-powered features (tab summaries, topic grouping) use Chrome's built-in on-device Gemini Nano model. All processing happens locally on your hardware. No text, URLs, or page content is sent anywhere.
Closure requests the following browser permissions, each for a specific purpose:
There are no third parties. No SDKs, no libraries that phone home, no embedded content, no remote resources. The extension is entirely self-contained.
Closure is free. There are no ads, no paid tiers, no in-app purchases. The extension includes optional donation links to Ko-fi — these are clearly labeled and never block functionality.
Closure does not collect data from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published here. Since there's no data to collect, it's unlikely to change much.
